The area below the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve for MCI was 0.691 and 0.893 for dementia. There were significant differences in terms of: denomina-tion, attention, word-free remembrance and orientation bet-ween the group with no deterioration and the group with MCI. Mean MoCA score was 17.00 (SD = 4.79) for the group with MCI, 19.83 (SD = 9.33) for the group with no deterioration and 12.35 (SD = 4.13) for the group with demen-tia. There were no significant differences regarding age or level of schooling. Results: the current sample consists of 103 patients: 51 with MCI, 31 with dementia and 21 with no deterioration of cognitive function. Conclusión: los resultados preliminares indican que la versión castellana del MoCA resultó eficaz para la demencia, pero se mostró menos eficaz que la ver-sión original para el DCL. La fiabilidad test-retest para el total del test fue de 0,921 (p < 0,000). La fiabilidad interexaminadores para el total del test fue de 0,914 (p < 0,000). El área bajo la curva Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) para DCL fue 0,691 y 0,893 para demencia. Hubo dife-rencias significativas en: denominación, atención, recuerdo libre de palabras y orientación entre el grupo sin deterioro y el grupo de DCL.
La puntuación media del MoCA fue de 17,00 (DE = 4,79) para el grupo de DCL, 19,83 (DE = 9,33) para el grupo sin dete-rioro y 12,35 (DE = 4,13) para el de demencia. No había diferencias significativas por edad y escolaridad. Resultados: la muestra actual es de 103 pacien-tes, 51 con DCL, 31 con demencia y 21 sin deterioro.
